We are Hoolan Ensemble - a fast-emerging collective of musicians and composers dedicated to commissioning and performing innovative contemporary music, and to collaborating with other art forms. Passionate about bringing music to wider audiences, we perform in non-traditional concert venues, be it shops such as IKEA, or in cinemas across the UK. As a young, dynamic ensemble, we combine an interest in artistic history with a focus on the contemporary issues that matter to us most, using both as raw material to inspire experiences that are fresh, compelling and out of the ordinary. Most recently, our collaborative film, Foreign Body (2024, dir. Sára Ní Eithir), was double nominated for 'Best UK Short' at Raindance Film Festival 2025.
